I absolutely love gardening. At our ranch in Conway we have perennial beds and a large amount of vegetable beds. We work in horses as well so I use my manure regeneratively and dispurse it around our ranch where the land needs to be built up or reconstructed and then I typically plant right in it. This has tripled the size of my vegetables and their plant yield. Its been amazing!

This year things are a little different for us as I moved to the Seacoast of New Hampshire for a school year winter rental with our young son so I had to leave behind my gardens at what is now becoming our summer home and will try to tend to them this fall on weekend visits.

Thankfully, the winter home we are renting had a wonderful garden growing of flowers and vegetables and the owner left it in place for me to continue to tend to. I try to get out there daily and put my hands in the soil. This is one of the primary ways I tend my soul. When I can’t get my hands dirty or spend time in the garden, it calls me so desperately to visit. I’ll try to take a picture and share a bit later of my new garden I was gifted! I’d love to hear about your experience with gardening and what you like or don’t like, what works for you or what doesn’t work well!

Brief share about our Gardens of Life: in 2013 my husband (after 18 years together) and I were at an all time low. There was a literal ‘crack’ in our foundation and a ‘dark cloud’ over our bedroom both physically and metaphysically. We were in marriage counseling to see if we could work through this time. I decided, together, we need to grow a garden. I had always done the gardening alone…but this time we created a garden and designed mirroring sides but one side he would tend to and the other I. I’m happy to share that its now 2024 and we are thriving. While his side of the garden had way more weeds than mine and less yield and his plants did not do so well, his shit still grew and did not die…and neither did we! Gardens = Love + Life
